A timeline of the Southern SARE Young Scholar Enhancement Grant, from the release of the Call for Proposals to the funding decision:
- The Project Review Committee reviews and approves the Call for Proposals at the winter Administrative Council meeting each February.
- The Southern SARE Young Scholar Enhancement Grants are by invitation only. They are not open to the public. Researchers with active Research and Education Grants and Education Grants are only invited to apply. An email invitation to apply is sent in February. Application deadline is April.
- Once the grant closes, the Project Review Committee is assigned to review proposals, which takes place over a period of about 2 weeks. The Committee then forwards recommendations to the Administrative Council Executive Committee in April for approval.
- Grant applicants are notified of the status of their proposal following the Executive Committee meeting.
- Funded Young Scholar Enhancement Projects begin June 1 and conclude July 31. At the completion of the project, Young Scholars are required to submit a poster presentation.
